Four days of flanerie in Granada in the Andalucian region of Spain could make anyone rapturous. It was my first visit to the beautiful country and I'm in love with the place, the people and the architecture.

I love Granada, have been there a couple of times & would love to go back one day - watching the sun set over the Alhambra from the Albaicin is one of the great sights in the world!

Wonderful! I particularly like the shots that highlight the Moorish influences on architecture in some parts of Spain. This only fuels my desire to visit Spain.

Lovely photos, Flaneurbanite. Pity about the graffiti on the studded door. I guess some would say it adds to the photo; me, I think it would have been better without it. But there's some beautiful architecture there for sure.
And funnily enough, my daughter was asking for Hakuna Matata (The Lion King) this morning. I had to do a double-take when I saw that on the photo above.

Erinn: You must! It is an incredibly beautiful region and the people are lovely :) Andalucia, in particular, has a lot of Moorish architecture and the Alhambra is one of the finest examples of it. Thanks for your feedback, do keep visiting :)

Chailey: I agree with you about the studded door - it is so beautiful and the graffiti just mars it - no two ways about that. But then it struck me that Granada was full of graffiti. Graffiti in the sense of the subversive - I wouldn't call most of it street art in the context of Granada. I wonder why.
